About Blue Ox

Extreme Ownership.
Every Roof.

Tim Carter is on the job, not behind a desk. When you hire Blue Ox, you get the owner's attention, the owner's accountability, and the owner's name on every piece of work that leaves our hands.

Our Story

Tim Carter — Owner, Blue Ox Construction LLC

Blue Ox Construction LLC was founded in Sedalia, Missouri on a simple principle: tell people the truth about their roof. In a roofing industry full of storm chasers, padded estimates, and contractors who price off what insurance will pay instead of what the work actually costs, Tim Carter took a different approach.

Consultant-first. That's the whole model. Blue Ox will tell you to repair if that's what's needed. Replace if the roof is at end of life. Coat if it makes financial sense. Or do nothing if the roof is genuinely fine and you just had a bad ceiling day. Whatever the data says, that's what you'll hear — not whatever answer generates the biggest invoice.

Tim built Blue Ox from the ground up in Central Missouri, earning certifications and manufacturer partnerships that most contractors in the region don't bother with — because most contractors don't think forensic diagnostics and capital planning data belong in a roofing business. Tim disagrees.

He stays on the job. He knows his crews. He knows the systems we install. And when the work is done, the warranty is signed with his name behind it.

How We Work

The Principles We Actually Live By

These aren't values we put on a wall and forget. They're the operating principles behind every estimate, every inspection, and every job.

Extreme Ownership

The owner is on every job. Not just available by phone — present. Every project Tim Carter touches gets his full accountability, from the first assessment to the final inspection. No job is too small to deserve attention.

Honest Assessment

Even if "do nothing" is the right call. We will not sell you a replacement when a repair is appropriate. We will not sell you a coating when the roof is past saving. The data leads us to the right answer, and we give you that answer — every time.

Data Over Sales

Thermal imaging, electrical impedance mapping, and Haag-certified inspection methodology — Tim Carter, HCI #2509111720, holds the Haag Certified Inspector designation. We collect real data before we make any recommendation. In a sales-driven industry, we decided to be a data-driven one. It's a slower way to build a business, but it builds the right kind of business.

Quality Materials

Owens Corning Total Protection systems. Gaco silicone coatings. Manufacturer involvement in specs and QA. We don't offer budget material options, because a budget roof is just an expensive problem waiting to happen. Every system we install is backed by the manufacturer who made it.

Credentials

Certified. Licensed. Trusted.

These certifications aren't wall decorations. Each one represents training, testing, and accountability that directly affects the quality of work we deliver.
